Editing & Proofreading
for YA fiction
Editing rates are based on your manuscript length and genre, as well as the extent of editing required. For a sample edit and quote, please fill out my Sample Edit Request Form.
I look forward to reading your work!
Why use an editor?
An editor is important because your book, should you want to publish it, is a product. Being an author is essentially being a business owner, and professional editing ensures your product is the best it can be. This creates happy readers, which translates into more sales.
Editors don't exist to make you feel bad about your work, or to change it so much that your voice and message are lost. They should find your voice and enhance it, hold your hand through edits, and ensure the book is fit for its genre and audience. I know editing can seem scary, but it shouldn't be. I work with you, not against you, and ensure my suggestions are always kind and relevant.

Your editor should be an expert on your genre and target audience, so they understand where your book will sit in the market and how to make it translate with readers.
I'm a specialist Young Adult fiction editor (you can find out more about my experience, qualifications, and why I work with YA on my About page). My job isn't just to fix typos; it's to ensure that your book has an authentic teen voice and appeals to teen readers, while respecting your unique story and voice.

I can't wait to work with you and enhance your wonderful novel.
